What it is:
Portraits of the Unseen is an intuitive, collaborative practice for all ages that paints internal experiences & relationships into physical form.
Through conversation & creative ritual we engage spirit-body-mind to communicate the unseens into visual representation. Sometimes this can be a loved-one who has transitioned, or a part of you that asks for attention. Sometimes it is something you want to let go of, or we start with a feeling and go from there.
This practice acknowledges the energy that arises, and together we transform, uplift, or simply see it. The tangible outcome exists as a living metaphor through water & pigment.
The recipient leaves with both a painting and a practice for witnessing and engaging with our rich, unseen worlds. This practice asks for presence, for slowing down, and for honoring the wisdom already within us.
it’s a COLLABORATIVE PROCESS
what to expect:
A 30 minute session that begins with grounding practices, and a centering ritual that invites conversation that enters into a calm, creative environment to access the unseen realm we will be working with.
This practice invites people of all ages and backgrounds and looks different depending on the interest, ability, and comfort of the individual.
Once the participant is comfortable, I begin painting and invite conversation to help guide the energy into form. Once the unseen arrives on to paper, we take our time to reflect and close out the session. The portrait is theirs to take with them and to use, with respective credit to the collaborators.
reviews from previous portraits
"Ernest was able to speak with me and create an image that was a reflection of my energy in the moment. I was overwhelmed with gratitude, surrounded by beautiful people and positivity the day we met. The art produced was a result of our conversation and connection in that moment. Ernest is amazing and the piece forever cherished. "

« Wow, just wow. Ernest materialized a portrait of something I was longing to hear, the voice of my brother, gone too soon. His tone & spirit crystallized in water color. Thank you." »
